New to Cornerstone

We would like to introduce you to Cornerstone Baptist Church, an independent, Baptist church in Scarborough, Maine.

We want to you to know, that at Cornerstone, you will find a caring message delivered by people that are genuinely interested in you and your needs. The people at Cornerstone have found that God can meet their deepest needs, provide true joy, and give purpose to life. We are a church family made up of real people who enjoy God's Word and one another's company.

Where is the church located?

We are located near Haigais (Haigis) Parkway on Route 1 in Scarborough. We are between the Irving gas station and Len Libby's Candies. Get Directions.

What is the length of the services?

The Sunday morning worship service lasts about 1 hour and 15 minutes.  The Sunday evening service and Midweek service lasts for about 1 hour. View our service times.

What takes place during the Sunday morning Bible Study time?

Before Bible Study on Sunday morning, we take time to fellowship and have coffee and breakfast snacks. The study time is opened with prayer requests and prayer before we begin the lesson. The lesson time is about 40 minutes long.

What is the Sunday morning worship service like?

The Sunday morning worship service consists of congregational hymn singing, special music, scripture reading, music from the choir, and a sermon. The sermon is the focus of the worship service.

What should I bring or what should I wear?

If you have a Bible, you would be comfortable bringing it with you. If you need a Bible, the church does have Bibles in the pew. Although there is not an official dress code for church services, our members come dressed realizing that they are in the service to worship. You will find a variety of appropriate attire at the services. Our focus will be on the heart and attitude of proper worship.

Will there be something for my children?

Yes, we have a separate service for children so that they can be taught at their level. We also have special programs for school-aged children during our Wednesday evening instruction time.
